NAC 2014
A PERSONAL NOTE from the CEO
Over the past few months, my facebook has been flooded with disaster after disaster. First it was MH370 incident then the South Korean ferry that capsized. It always seems like there’s always some crisis happening somewhere in the world.
Bad things always happen, but how people react when bad things happen is always different. Some will turn on their governments, some will turn to religion, some people look for someone to blame, some get angry, some take their own lives, and some consult coconuts. Yet, there are some who overcome.
This year, at our National Achievers Congress, we have someone who is the example of one who has overcome. Nick Vujicic defied the odds to succeed in spite of his extremely challenging physical condition.
We will never ever stop facing challenges in our lives. Nick faces them daily and he says, “You can choose to be angry at what you don’t have or you can be thankful for what you do have.”
The only thing that is within our control to change is how we react. You may have faced a setback. Your life may have turned upside down. You might feel like you are all alone, that you don’t have all the answers. You might feel trapped or feel like you don’t have many choices. But no matter how you feel, you can always choose to be thankful for what you still have. The resources still have at your disposal.
Your life is different now but that doesn’t mean it has to be worse. It can be better. Amidst all that chaos and turmoil is an opportunity for a rebirth. Is there something you need to let go of? Or a dream you once had that you need to rediscover? Start believing and discover possibilities.
Of course, if things are going well for you right now, you don’t have to go through a major life change to appreciate what you have. All it takes is a wake up call. What it going to take for you?
“When we least expect it, life set us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. It is time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.” – Paulo Coelho
To your success,
